Poggenpohl presents the latest product highlights
At the opening of Design Center in Milan Poggenpohl shows kitchen design with a difference, luxury fronts and innovative details

Not only do Poggenpohl kitchens delight customers all over the world, they also regularly win design prizes and are commended for their outstanding quality and appearance. The traditional manufacturer from Herford has always been considered a trendsetter, with innovative developments and independent design that have brought fresh ideas into the kitchen and now, also, into the living area.
In addition to various design prizes, the latest +ARTESIO® kitchen concept has also received the coveted international “red dot: best of the best” award from the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen. The award, meanwhile the third, for the +ARTESIO® that was created jointly by Hamburg-based star architect Hadi Teherani and Poggenpohl, underscores the brand’s design expertise. The innovative kitchen concept offers an integrated solution that fuses furniture design, wall, floor and ceiling together architecturally. The result is an integrated space concept in which the aspects of building, architecture, home and kitchen all coalesce. The award-winning design of the +ARTESIO® kitchen is defined by an innovative function arch. This produces an entirely new feeling of space that not only turns the kitchen into the centre of home life but also builds a visual bridge between cooking and living.
A few years ago Poggenpohl presented the PLUSMODO® kitchen, designed by renowned Spanish designer, Jorge Pensi, for the first time. Design-conscious customers around the world were enchanted by the successful combination of open and closed areas. The solid worktop which manages to achieve an almost floating effect is regarded as a distinguishing feature of this likewise multiple award-winning kitchen architecture. Picking up on the current trend for natural colours, Poggenpohl is showing PLUSMODO® at Küchenmeile A30 with a surface in terra from the current colour range. Staying with the natural colour scheme, PLUSMODO® is also available in “terra” and “pine white“.
The finest of all Poggenpohl kitchens, the Porsche Design Kitchen P´7340, also features an innovative front. Poggenpohl was the first kitchen manufacturer in the world to use carbon in front design. Familiar from motor racing, this ultra-light yet extremely strong and temperature-resistant carbon fibre compound is used today in many areas of the aerospace industry and also, increasingly, in vehicle bodies. For the carbon front of the Poggenpohl Porsche Design kitchen P´7340, the material is laminated and applied to the back of a glass front. This additionally underscores the carbon’s three-dimensional look.
The familiar +SEGMENTO® kitchen concept has its place where the kitchen ends and living space begins. The handleless fronts are particularly characteristic of the innovative style. The use of vertical spacer profiles on tall, base, wall and top-mounted units make cabinets easy to open from above or from the side. Optionally, cabinets and drawers can also be opened by aluminium cup handles, knobs or a filigree strip handle made from drawn aluminium profile. +SEGMENTO® cuts an incredibly classy figure with a high-gloss lacquered front in the new “pebble grey” colour shade combined with the exquisite “walnut” wooden front.
The love of detail that makes the difference in Poggenpohl kitchens is evident in the drawer and pullout design, an in-house development which is now standard in all Poggenpohl kitchens. The interior side walls are right-angled and straight. The special feature of this pullout design is the drawer frames, which are made from light but sturdy aluminium only 8 mm thick. That gives a Poggenpohl kitchen more than 15% extra storage space on average. The connection between the runner and this, currently the thinnest drawer side profile on the market, and the front assembly are testimony to exquisite workmanship. 6. All options are also available with power-assisted opening and the pull-outs can also be finished with integrated LED lighting that is automatically activated on opening to give a perfect view of everything inside.
The latest product highlights once again underscore Poggenpohl’s premium standard in quality, innovation and functionality.
