Poggenpohl continues to invest in own studios

Poggenpohl Möbelwerke GmbH continues to invest in expanding its worldwide sales network. In the first quarter of 2009, the East Westphalian premium kitchen manufacturer will be opening more of its own sales studios in the USA, in the United Kingdom and in Germany. "We will systematically expand sales on the basis of our own studios and continue our growth strategy despite the current economic crisis", said Elmar Duffner, Managing Director of Poggenpohl Möbelwerke GmbH, at the imm cologne International Furniture Show in Cologne.

The new bases are Dallas, Houston, Philadelphia, London and Bremen. In the USA, Poggenpohl now operates twelve kitchen studios of its own. With a new sales studio in St. Albans near London, the number of studios the company operates in the United Kingdom has risen to a total of nine. Preparations are also underway to enter the Japanese market with a company-run studio in Tokyo also set to open in 2009.

In Germany, Poggenpohl operates its own kitchen studios in Dresden, Hamburg, Hanover (two), Münster, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Stuttgart. Added to this is the new one opening in Bremen. Munich's Max 17 kitchen studio was also taken over by a retail partner at the beginning of 2009.
In addition to the 400 or so dealer-run kitchen studios, some 120 of which sell the Poggenpohl brand on an exclusive basis, the Herford-based premium kitchen manufacturer now operates 36 kitchen studios of its own worldwide. They are all located in the main cities of Asia, the USA and Europe. With this strategy, Poggenpohl aims to strengthen the brand in major international markets. By 2013, Poggenpohl is planning to operate no fewer than 90 of its own sales studios worldwide.
